About Us
Based in an old Victorian factory dating back to the 1860s, The Jam Factory has evolved into a very special and unique place!
Over the last 20 years we have moulded the "Jammo" into a vibrant, creative setting. It is THE place to come in York if you are into making music.
As well as being home to Yorks' Access to Music course, the Jam Factory is also in the hub of York's music scene, providing rehearsal spaces and recording time for many of York's finest bands of the past, present and future! The Jam Factory is situated a short walk from the city centre and is conveniently accessible by bus, road and rail.
The Jam Factory recently won a 'Lord Mayor of Yorks' Shine award for 'Best service ( to young people ) provider' for our Saturday Academy and Music Experiences and a Groves Award for 'Most community minded business'.
Facilities include four fully equipped sound proofed rehearsal rooms, a state of the art recording studio, technology loft and seminar rooms, as well as a comfortable chill-out area with hot and cold vending machines.
Tha Jam Factory in collaboration with Access To Music has many York based partnerships with various businesses and charities including MOR music, Door 84, Upfaders, Tang Hall SMART and York Music Hub.
